Best Laid Plans

"It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link in the chain of destiny can be handled at a time."

- Winston Churchill

I had hoped to have Dwarrowdelf out by now, but one of my test knitters (written directions) had some confusion and a hospitalization in the family along the way. I am waiting on her. When I spoke with her on Friday, she said she hoped to finish up over the weekend. Then I have to run the final pattern by my proofreaders.

I do not want to release before this process is concluded, in order to avoid potential errata in the pattern. I also do not want to make the knitter feel inadequate or that she has let me down in any way by taking the test to someone else. These things happen. It is part of the process.

I beg your understanding. The next release in the series will be the Strider Cowl, which I am writing up for the test knitters today. It should be a much shorter interval before release.

Please accept my apologies for the delay.

Better to take the extra time than have to redo. And I think it's great that you are letting her finish her project. You are awesome!

Stuff happens. I wouldn't want your test knitter to feel pressured or that she had done a less than stellar job, either. Patience is a virtue.....

No worries at all - you know what they say about the joy of anticipation, and I LOVE having things to look forward to (especially in this case, because your patterns are just so amazing) :)

I'll bet it's the people who have a dozen or so UFOs who might be annoyed at having to wait. It's the "ooh, shiny syndrome." Never be hard on yourself for being kind and considerate, as you are, of your volunteers, readers, and customers. I just started knitting lace patterns. Have determined I am incapable of counting to 2, if even that far sometimes, so your patterns are not yet possible for me. They're beautiful. Someday.

I'm very excited! I have 1 UFO at the moment, and 2 that must be started (and finished) before I get to knit something for ME... but still excited! Is Dwarrowdelf the first released pattern for the FotR series? Or am I missing one/some? (Other than Legolas, which I got and adore.)

this is indeed the first - just waiting on the proofreader.
