(R)evolution

"You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right..."

-The Beatles

You know, sometimes I really wish I wasn't so darn picky.

I wish I could let designs slide.

Like I do housekeeping.

But I can't.

I look at my work and I don't see what's right. I see what could be better.

I thought this was a great design...

Then I worked it up a couple inches and decided the contrast between the openness of the rose leaf section and the twisted stitch bud was too great.

So I added a yarn over along the edges of the twisted stitch segment to correspond with the yarnovers on the leaf.

Better...

That was last weekend.

Rip...redo...

Worked all day yesterday. Got it back up to here...

And decided the area outside the bud needed to be completely open.

Back to the drawing charting board computer...

While I was at it, I changed the stem to make it wider. Maybe that will save me another change.

Then again, maybe I will wish I had left the stem as is.

You know what's coming, don't you?

Yep.

Rip...

Redo...

Talk about destruction!

Maybe it's time to block Mantra or put a few more repeats on Mendhi. Less stressful.

The problem is...

We all want to change the world.

Or at least our little part of it.

I do like the beads I ordered all the way from China!

So far...

Sigh...

Don't fret-- this is just but a minor setback (if you could call it that). Look at all the other designs you've created.

Home is where your heart is. I feel home wherever I am with my husband. Like you, as our children grow up and away, we are finding more time to be together just us. And it's wonderful.

I always seem to miss the ssss. Maybe I'll make it this week.....
