Whaddayuthink?

"I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure."
- graffiti

Sometimes I know it's right.

Sometimes I know it's wrong.

And sometimes I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground I'm just not sure...

I have this skein of Artyarns beaded silk rhapsody. The gold color is gorgeous, but the hand feels a little heavy. Of course, when you are coming from lace weight, EVERYTHING feels heavy.

So I knit it up in a little zig-zaggy all over pattern and added a little geometric interest on the end. I knit it on 9s so it would have a little openness.

It is speedy, but I just don't know. The gold beading is more apparent than is evident in these photos, but doesn't stand out a lot from the overall color - subtle, not garish.

Maybe I'll like it better when I block it.

Anyway, I thought I would ask y'all what YOU think. Is this bit of a worsted weight lace scarf something you would want to knit?

Leave me a message. You know what to do...

I like it! I was a bit disappointed when I knit with the Artyarns with the beads in it. I don't know why, but it seemed like most of the beads ended up on the back of my work. Maybe I'm just a control freak and want my beads placed. just. right. (That may be Hydrangea's fault!)

I have six skeins of Malabrigo silky merino. Do I start Jazzed Up or wait for a test knit?

I think the yarn looks great in the diamond pattern at the end of the scarf, but it looks like the beads might get hidden in the textured stitch pattern above it. I've never knit with it, but that yarn looks pretty. Maybe the whole scarf can be the diamond stitch pattern?

I love it - another aperitif - agree to maybe keep the beads to the ends only and then "sail" through the middle.....

I love the pattern! I'm not a fan of yarn that has the beads in it. I feel like Maria does that I would rather control where the beads are placed, but the pattern and the yarn (as it is in the pictures) is glorious! :) I look for a worsted weight pattern every so often, when I want a project that gives more instant gratification.

I love the color and I think (personal opinion) I would go up at least another size in needles. That being said I like my lace breezy!! LOL!!

I love it, too. The color is so rich. I've never knit with this yarn, so I don't whether the beads with end up in the front or back. But, I can guarantee I'll buy the pattern!

On my monitor, it's very bland and the ridges sort of stick up. I didn't know there were beads on it until I read the post. Maybe put a contrasting bead at the intersections of the diamonds instead of on the insides, which would make the beads more prominent. And use red or green beads inside instead of the gold ones.

Just bathering...

From the photos I love the yarn color and it looks like it drapes well, etc. I am in the minority here in that I'm *not* wild about the ends. :( Seems "bulky" when compared to the main pattern (which I love). JMO.

I love the pattern (but then when haven't I loved every one of your patterns). I wouldn't use the same yarn--knitting from stash this year, and I have just the yarn for it.

Hey to you! I really do like this effort. I think the color is nice and the idea of the beads being already on the yarn is nice to me. I have to agree with the idea that the body of the piece might respond well to using a lacy chevron instead of the knitted chevron but what do I know. I'm no designer. I would knit it though if it were offered except that it looks as if it will be very expensive, more than I can afford probably.

My two cents' worth is that it's very pretty, but suffers in comparison to Durum, which has a similar diamond part, but seems a more cohesive pattern over-all. But then I think Durum is the most gorgeous pattern I've seen in ages! (Waiting impatiently to test-knit or buy, so my motives aren't the purest.) (Schrapknits on Ravelry.)

Its lovely - perhaps go up a needle size and what about opening up the diamonds on the end with a few more holes - parallel to the lines or within the diamonds themselves. I love the texture of the main body and the subtlety of the beads.

Susan,
I really like it. I think that it is difficult to voice an opinion when it isn't blocked. I think the lace will open up and I am not sure that I would want the yarn overs to be any bigger preblocked.

I just knitted and felted a NONI purse using the Tilli Tomas flurries - it is adorable. I understand the idea of wanting to control where the beads are but sometimes for me, it is fun to just let go (I am on my way to finishing Iris - so it's a pleasure to have a project where some of the beading is already done for you) - kind of like watercolor where good "accidents" might happen because you don't have control.

The only addition I would personally make is adding the tear drop beads to the cast on row as in the Iris pattern. I have some in topaz that I think would be perfect for the pattern and this yarn.

I think it is lovely.

I love it! And I'm jealous. I have never worked from charts and I am intimidated by them, so lace may not be in my future.

YES! I would knit that in a flash. I will admit that I would use an unbeaded yarn and add my own beads where I wanted them.

I love the pattern, but if I'm going to have beads in the yarn I want them to show up.

I'd probably use a fingering weight for myself though.

Very nice... looks like fun to knit :-)

Love your patterns. Would use a lighter weight for this piece. Color and sheen are nice though.

If I made a scarf in worsted weight, maybe my friend's mother would actually wear it instead of keeping it in a special box! Not sure about the beads. They look beautiful in the photos, but then people talk about them shifting to the back, and I don't think I would want that. But it looks gorgeous!
