A Promise Is a Promise...

Tonight Morocco looks like this:

Just this morning, she looked like this:

See those two little markers?

Those markers mark the beginning of the end...

The start of the center diamond insert where the beaded Persian lace pattern makes another appearance.

See the chart? More importantly, see the pink post it several rows into the chart?

Cause for celebration..Garcon! Champagne all around!

Well, ok. I'll settle for a second cup of coffee.

Then I decided the dividing boundary between the two sections needed to be more distinctive, so I made a few minor modifications.

Of course, that meant redoing the charts

And adding 30 rows.

Spent the rest of the day getting back to where I started. SIGH!

But I will prevail. She will be finished this weekend.

Considering that last weekend after our disastrous date at knitting group, she looked like this:

I think she's showing marked improvement...

More pics tomorrow when the light is better.

Oh Susan, I can't wait! I'm ordering the shawl kit as a birthday present for myself (March), and I'm so excited - it's SO beautiful...

I am so glad you posted pictures of Morocco. Not only does it look great, but it also makes me feel much better about my grandmother’s stole. At the moment it’s all sort of horrid and wrinkled looking. I’m hoping blocking will take care of this. It looks like it does from your pictures.

And wow. Miss a few days of blog reading and you practically can’t catch up any more!

Beautiful! It's so fun adapting patterns to exactly the way you want them--beautiful color too, I love all of the gold tones in there!

You are *so* worthy of the KAL group Susan!!! (which currently has 80ish members)

The newest pictures are lovely, even if you did have to go through some adjustments since then. Did you block the piece you had before taking those pictures?

I'm so glad that you, Kim, and Cheryl decided to go ahead with publishing the pattern before you had full pieces done. You must be so happy (and relieved! and fulfilled!)

So. Utterly. Excited. Can't even express it. Though the longer you take the more time I have to decide which colour I will choose; I'm completely torn between the two colourways!

I've been following Cheryl's progress with the purple colourway and it's absolutely beautiful! I've joined the kal and am looking forward to knitting this. I hope I'm up to it, because lace is not my strong suit.
