Hasta La Vista, Baby!

Font size"I'm sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea
I've got to be free, free to face the life that's ahead of me
On board, I'm the captain, so climb aboard
We'll search for tomorrow on every shore
And I'll try, oh lord, I'll try to carry on..."
-Styx

I will be away from my laptop from April 26th to May 3rd.

I discovered, while researching the pattern copy, that the Pampas Grass is often planted as an ornamental grass.

I also learned it is considered a noxious weed in other places. So much so that it is banned in New Zealand and Hawaii.

What an interesting dichotomy...

I m reminded of the old axiom, "you can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time."

One man's weed is another man's ornamental - go figure!

And if we cannot even agree on plants, what on earth makes us think we can please all of the people all of the time about anything else?

Like who we are and what we do and say.

But the impossibility of the task doesn't stop us from trying.

Of course, I am a middle child, so I am a born pleaser. It actually pains me when someone is unhappy with me. It used to tie me up in knots.

I cried for twenty minutes the first time someone sent me an email about how they didn't like my designs, my marketing strategy, my prices, me...

Now I realize it comes with the territory. You cannot expect to put yourself out there without someone taking potshots. and email is an easy, anonymous way to do so.

The rewards I reap from opening my heart and my life to y'all far exceed the risk. You are the greatest blessing to me. I wouldn't have it any other way.

So, now I shrug it off and say a prayer for the sender, hoping he/she finds peace within themselves.

And, instead of trying to figure out what you will like, what will sell, what would be non-controversial to write, I spend the time exploring who and what I actually am, in the most truthful way possible.

Instead of trying to fit someone else's mold, I make my own. I write what I know and design what I like.

And I don't worry if some consider me a noxious weed. I know how to bloom anyway...

I will invoice you through PayPal and ship them out to your hot little hands by midweek.Yarn will be shipped first class mail in a padded envelope if the total weight is 13 oz. or less. If yarn weighs more than that, I will ship in flat rate priority mail box for $9.85 or $10.85. By next week you should be happy knitting!

All yarn colors are true (on my monitor- can't account for yours.) We are a non smoking household, but I do have two cats. Yarn has been behind closed doors, so cat contact has been minimal. Yarn is unwound and untouched by human hands...Well, unless petting counts...
